DOOM-beta-header1

So Doom is nearly here and, as a little treat, we all got to try it out last week in the beta, if you were too busy sleeping and you missed it I don’t blame you, in fact, you probably had more fun anyway.

The beta ran from 15th-17th of April but on the last day i was extended for another whole day, joy. I spent my fair share side the beta, jumping here, climbing there, “Oh look at that” I’d cry unenthusiastically as I watched the pathetic excuse for a marine sink deeper into the flames of hell for the 100th time, vigorously breaking my thumb by mashing the respawn button so I could run back it to the map to act out my vengeance but fail miserably by missing a ledge and falling back into the lava again, there is only so many times a human can fall into that lava before their sanity is questioned and time sure does pass slowly on that death screen.

Doom-Hero2
This is where I call home.

The first day passed and I had reached the level cap for the beta, I was now the proud owner of all six guns and I was ready for anything, I spawned in and headed straight for the centre, no-one could kill me, I was ready, I turned the corner and two blazing barrels of death greeted me, my body rolled to a stop and there he was, the man who murdered me was dancing over my body, he did a quick teabag and then he left me to rot, the weapon he was holding was a super shotgun, oh how I hate the Super Shotgun.
