Bored with all those mainstream anime? Wanna try something new? Well then this one is for you.
The manga was created by Tsuina Miura and Gamon Sakurai. Now as for the story… I will try to keep it as spoiler-free as possible.
The story is set in modern day Japan. 17 years before present, the first immortal appeared in the battlefields of Africa. From then on more of them were discovered within human society, and were named as Ajins: Demigods. The story revolves around a young high school boy Kei Nagai who discovers his immortality when he is hit by a truck, dies n then comes back to life. A hunt is then started for Kei by the government and other organizations who want to get hold of an ajin..what will become of Kei and others like him.
Though the idea behind the series is definitely not original but the way in which the story progresses we come across all facets of human nature…and that of the Ajins too. The story is emotional at times and covers the gruesome aspects of humans.
The story is fast paced and with a lot of twists and turns. It will keep you glued to your seats. The animations are a bit different though and might need a getting used to, but after watching an episode or two you will go for a marathon. Plus the show has got one of the most bad ass old man I have ever seen.
With only 13 episodes in the first season(second season is supposed to come soon) the show is a must watch.
